Warning light on your dashboard?
Modern cars monitor themselves constantly. When something is outside normal limits, the car stores a fault code and often turns on a warning light. We connect diagnostic equipment to read those codes, look at live data from the vehicle and then investigate the cause.
We can help with:
- Engine management (check engine) lights
- ABS and traction control warnings
- Airbag warning lights
- Electrical faults
- Loss of power, rough running and misfires
- Faults that come and go
What a fault code does and does not tell us
A fault code identifies a system or condition that needs investigation. It does not automatically prove that a particular component has failed and needs replacing. For example, a code for a sensor reading can be caused by the sensor itself, the wiring to it, a connector, or a different problem that the sensor is correctly reporting.
That is why we treat the code as the starting point. We check the readings, test the components involved and then tell you what we’ve found and what we recommend, with a price, before any repairs are carried out.
Should I keep driving?
If a warning light is red, if the engine light is flashing, or if the car is overheating, losing power, smoking or behaving unusually, stop when it is safe and get advice before driving further. An amber light is less urgent but should still be checked soon.
