If an issue is identified, we’ll discuss the work and cost with you before carrying out additional repairs.
How booking your MOT through VDR Auto works
We want to be clear about how this works. VDR Auto does not carry out the statutory MOT test at our garage at 42 Frederick Street. Instead, we arrange it for you with our partner MOT testing station, so you only need to deal with one garage.
- Contact us to book your MOT
- Drop your vehicle off at VDR Auto on 42 Frederick Street
- We arrange the MOT test at our partner testing station
- If the vehicle needs work, we explain what is required and give you a price
- Repairs are only carried out once you’ve agreed to them
Help with MOT preparation and repairs
Many MOT failures come from items that can be checked and put right beforehand. We can help with common MOT related repairs, including:
- Brakes
- Tyres
- Suspension
- Exhaust
- Lighting faults
- Welding
- Other mechanical repairs where applicable
We can’t guarantee that any vehicle will pass its MOT. The result is decided by the tester at the testing station on the day. What we can do is look over your car beforehand if you’d like, and deal with any work it needs.
When does my car need an MOT?
In Great Britain most cars need their first MOT three years after they were first registered, and then every year. You can check your MOT due date on the GOV.UK website using your registration.
