Puncture repairs
Not every puncture can be repaired safely. A repair is usually only possible when the damage is small and in the central part of the tread. Damage to the sidewall or shoulder, or a tyre that has been driven on while flat, normally means the tyre needs to be replaced. We inspect the tyre inside and out before deciding.
Legal tread depth
In the UK, car tyres must have at least 1.6mm of tread across the central three-quarters of the tread, around the whole circumference. Grip in wet weather reduces as tyres wear, so many drivers replace them before they reach the legal limit.
